Central Food Technological Research Institute, Mysore - Admission for Ph.D. programme - January 2014 Session

  • CSIR-CFTRI under AcSIR invites applications from eligible Candidates for full-time Doctoral (Ph.D.) Research Programme in Biological / Engineering Sciences for January 2014 session with the following eligibility requisites:
  • Ph.D. (Science):A Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine or B.S (of 4 year duration) or a Master's Degree in Science with valid National level Fellowship (JRF/SRF of various funding agencies, e.g. CSIR, UGC, DST, DBT, ICMR etc.), INSPIRE or other equivalent fellowships. 
  • Ph.D. (Engineering): A Master's Degree in Engineering / Technology / Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology with exceptionally good academic record or a Master's degree in Sciences with a valid GATE score with valid UGC / CSIR-JRF/NET / NBHM / CSIR-SRF / ICMR-SRF or equivalent Fellowships.
How to Apply : Interested Candidates who fulfil the eligibility can apply online from 20th September 2013 at [http://acsir.res.in]. Online application will close on 24th October 2013. For more details about application and admission procedures, candidates are requested to visit the website [http://acsir.res.in].
Selection : Selection for admission to Ph.D. programme in Biological / Engineering Sciences of AcSIR at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore shall be on the basis of Aptitude tests/Interviews of short listed Candidates to be held at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore. Candidates are advised to visit the Acsir website for dates of interview in the first week of November 2013.
Kindly Note :
  • Research Scholars (JRFs and SRFs) already working in the Institute and meeting the requisite academic qualifications are eligible to apply. 
  • Project Assistants / Project Fellows with a minimum of one year of experience as on 24th October 2013 and currently engaged in projects with remaining period of four years at CSIR-CFTRI and meeting the requisite academic qualifications are also eligible to apply. Such of these Candidates are to submit to the AcSIR Coordinator of CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore (Dr. C. Anandharamakrishnan) a statement of purpose (brief research proposal) along with the recommendation of the proposed guide with whom the Candidate wishes to undertake Ph.D. programme, if selected. 
  • Admission criteria for SC / ST / OBC / Women / Physically Handicapped candidates is relaxable as per GOI rules
  • Mere fulfillment of minimum requisites stipulated in the notification would not entitle a Candidate to be short-listed. 
  • No TA & DA shall be paid to the short listed Candidates for attending the Aptitude tests/interviews at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore. Further, they should make their own arrangements for accommodation and food. 
  • In all matters of admission to Ph.D. programme at CSIR-CFTRI, Mysore, the decision of Institute's Executive Authority shall be final.
